ABOUT CINEMA CITY BULGARIA
Cinema City Bulgaria is the part of Cineworld PLC Group – one of the leading cinema groups in Europe. Cineworld's acquisition of Regal Entertainment Group has created the second largest cinema business in the world (by number of screens). Cineworld currently operates in the UK, Ireland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Israel and the US. Currently, the Group operates 790 movie theaters with 9,518 screens.
Cinema City Bulgaria manages 7 multiplexes in 6 different cities - Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Ruse, Burgas and Varna.
The first multiplex with 13 halls was built in Sofia in 2006. This was only the beginning of a very extensive development of the chain of cinemas in the country. The second multiplex with 11 halls in Mall Plovdiv opened in March 2009. A multiplex with 7 halls was opened in Stara Zagora in November 2010. In the same year, in December, opened the modern facility in Rоusse.Cinema City Galleria Burgas opened doors in 2012. It is equipped with the latest generation movie technologies, 10 modern halls, 5 of which are 3D.
Cinema City Paradise was open in 2013 - 14 halls, one of which was the first 4DX hall in Bulgaria - the absolute cinema experience, exclusively offered only by Cinema City. Another 4DX hall was open in Cinema City Plovdiv in 2016. March 2019 we opened our newest and most modern cinema: Cinema City Varna. The multiplex consists of 12 halls, including Dolby Atmos hall, and the first 4DX on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
